PSG Fans Protest A Loss To FC Bayern Munich.

Yesterday marked the final day for the Champions League. The match between PSG and Bayern however led to fans protesting the results as they were hoping to see their own team’s first triumph.
More than 80 people were arrested as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fans set cars ablaze and clashed with police. This happened on the Champs-Elysees after the Champions League final defeat to Bayern Munich. Around 5,000 supporters had gathered at Paris’s Parc des Princes to cheer on PSG. Caution had been thrown out of the window and social distancing rules did not apply here. They were lighting flares and chanting as they watched the 1-0 defeat in Lisbon on a big screen.
After scuffles at the ground, late-night clashes erupted on the Champs-Elysees. Dustbins and a vehicle were set on fire. Police vans were pelted with bottles. Police cleared away 100 people who gathered at the Porte de Saint-Cloud area of the French capital, near the Parc des Princes stadium. “I’m gutted! They wasted too many chances and unfortunately in the final that just doesn’t fly,” said Nicolas Mounier as he left the stadium peacefully.

“We are disappointed but we weren’t dreadful,” another PSG fan, Anne Vaneson, told AFP. Online, fans elicited different reactions as some people watched the wrong game for the whole time. Despite all the attacking talent on display, one goal was enough to separate the two sides. With former PSG man Kingsley Coman heading in the winning goal in the 59th minute. Coman, a French international, guided his header into the bottom corner to add yet another trophy to his cabinet. The 24-year-old has won the league title in every season he has spent as a professional player, starting with PSG’s League 1 victory in 2013. Meanwhile, it’s yet more European disappointment for PSG which was playing in its first final.
