Manchester United Dealt A Huge Blow In Sancho Pursuit

Jadon Sancho’s future has been a subject under a lot of speculation for a while but Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc seems to have put all rumours to bed by confirming that the Englishman will be staying with the Black and Yellows for 2020/21 campaign.
Manchester club is keen to bolster the right-wing position and had identified Sancho for the role but they might have to look elsewhere. Borussia seems to have no intentions of selling their star man, and the only way they are willing to part ways with him is if their 120 million euro’s valuation of the player is met. Possible alternatives should the deal fail to materialise is Kingsley Coman from Bayern and Juventus Douglas Costa.
United believe Dortmund’s asking price is unrealistic and therefore, premier league side failed to make an official offer ‘before today’s deadline’ which the German side had set. Dortmund had informed united that they wanted the deal done before they could head for their pre-season camp in Switzerland, which they did this morning.
It is believed that the main reasons United failed to make an official offer is because;
- They are currently unwilling to break their wage structure for a 20 year old following an unsuccessful transfer of Alexis Sanchez.
- It is unrealistic to sign a player for 120 million euro’s under the current corona virus conditions
Manchester United have further gone ahead and dismissed today’s deadline by Dortmund to sign Sancho as meaningless and artificial since the transfer window closes on October 5th. However, Zorc insists that the player will stay and at a media briefing in today’s first training session, he said ‘we are planning with Sancho. He will play for us next season. The decision is final. I think that answers all questions. Last summer we adjusted the salary to the performance development of Jadon. So in context, we had already extended the contract until 2023’.
