Kenya Records 796 New Coronavirus Cases in a Day
Kenya has today recorded 796 new Coronavirus cases today with total cases now hitting 15,601.
Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi announced the new results citing that this was the highest number of cases recorded in a day since the pandemic hit Kenya.
“We continue to plead with Kenyans to take this matter seriously. Today we have 796 new cases,” she said.
According to CAS Mwangangi, 89 per cent of the new infections are asymptomatic meaning that they are not showing any signs.
The death toll has also risen to 263 after 3 more succumbed to the virus.
Dr Mwangangi said 378 patients were cleared after recovering from coronavirus in Kenya, 199 on home-based care and 179 from various hospitals.
